Assistant Professor, Integrative Biology and Physiology
Julia Liu is an Assistant Professor at the University of Minnesota in the Department of Integrative Biology and Physiology. After undergraduate and PhD training in biophysics, Julia completed her postdoctoral fellowship at the National Institutes of Health, studying mitochondrial calcium regulation primarily in cardiac and skeletal muscle. Broadly interested in the role of mitochondria in generating, signaling, and responding to cellular stress, her lab currently focuses on how dysregulation of mitochondrial calcium handling affects physiology and leads to pathology.
